MORRISVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) - On Monday, the North Carolina Governor's Highway Safety Program announced they are launching a statewide child passenger safety campaign.
According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, they are partnering with Safe Kids NC, and the Morrisville Fire Department to help raise awareness on the importance of making sure car seats are working properly.
Outside Morrisville Fire Station 1, dozens of members of the fire department and staff with Safe Kids NC joined together to kick off the campaign which runs through Sept. 28.
NCDOT says 8 out of 10 child safety seats are installed or used incorrectly but believe more young lives could be saved if the seats were properly installed and used.
