FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WSMV) - A tractor-trailer crash forced the closure of the interstate in Williamson County early Monday morning.

According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), for unknown reasons, a semi crashed and overturned on I-840 at the Lewisburg Pike exit around 5 a.m.

The large truck came to rest on its side, and the trailer stretched across all westbound lanes and into the grassy median.

Here are instructions on how to watch WSMV4 live on various platforms.

TDOT shut down I-840 West and diverted traffic off at exit 31.

One lane was opened after a loader was able to drag the semi into the median.

Cleanup was expected to be completed by 11 a.m., but efforts continue to remove the debris from the roadway at noon.
