MONTROSE, Colo. (KREX) - A shooting occurred over the weekend in Montrose, leaving one injured and a minor arrested.

The shooting happened Saturday afternoon at 1650 Encanto Place.

The victim received non-life-threatening but serious injuries, Montrose Police Chief Blaine Hall told WesternSlopeNow. The male suspect, a minor, was charged with second-degree attempted murder and first-degree assault.

The Montrose Police Department stated there is no current risk to the public from this incident.
