SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - A local animal shelter is looking to find homes for more than dozen golden retrievers rescued from a backyard breeder. And of the 26 goldens rescued by Second Chance Animal Services, 23 of them are just puppies. The shelter says they were kept in deplorable conditions with dozens of other dogs.
Western Mass News spoke with Second Chance’s Chief Development Officer, Lindsay Doray, who told us more about what these dogs went through: “These dogs have been through a lot. The moms were the conditions were just really bad. The moms were completely caked with feces, most of them had to be shaved down because of how bad the neglect and cruelty portion was.
