The Manitoba government has announced the creation of a working group to examine whether Ste. Anne Hospital should be designated as a regional health facility. Health, Seniors and Long-Term Care Minister Uzoma Asagwara said the review will focus on the potential impacts of expanding the hospital’s role in southeastern Manitoba.

The minister noted that the hospital serves a large and growing population but continues to face staffing and service challenges. Asagwara said the group will study capacity, infrastructure, workforce needs, and long-term planning to determine if a regional designation is viable. The group will include representatives from the provincial health department, municipal leaders, health-care professionals, and community members.
