AUBURN, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Bruce Pearl is expected to retire as the head coach of the Auburn Tigers basketball team, according to sources.

ESPN’s Jeff Borzello and Pete Thamel reported on X that sources have told them that Pearl’s son, Steven, is expected to be the head coach for the upcoming season.

Pearl, a four-time SEC Coach of the Year, is the all-time winningest coach in Auburn men’s basketball history, compiling 264-125 record since 2014 with three SEC regular season championships and two SEC Tournament championships.

He led Auburn to four NCAA Tournament appearances, making it to the Final Four in 2018-19 and 2024-25.

Steven Pearl has been with the program for 12 years and has been the Associate Head Coach since 2023.
