Repairs are beginning on a pedestrian bridge along the MKT trail several months after it was found to have “severe structural damage,” according to Houston Public Works . Some of the walking trails around the bridge, too, are closed during construction.

Beginning Monday, the area surrounding the Hogan Street pedestrian bridge along the MKT trail is closed. That includes both the MKT trail itself as well as the nearby White Oak Bayou trail, just north of downtown Houston along Interstate 10 and I-45.

In July, the Houston City Council approved a $1.1 million contract with MC2 Civil to complete the repairs.
