EUGENE, Ore. - A horse has been successfully rescued after falling into a cistern on Fox Hollow Road, according to Eugene Springfield Fire officials.

ESF authorities said that multiple units responded to the scene and the incident occurred in the Eugene Rural Fire Protection District #1. Dispatch logs show that emergency personnel responded at about 11 a.m. on Sept. 22 to the 31000 block of Fox Hollow Road residence.

Eugene Rural is one of seven local fire or water districts that contract with the cities for fire services. These contracts ensure residents have access to the comprehensive services provided by Eugene Springfield Fire.
