PORTLAND, Maine — Police have ruled that a bomb threat found Monday at Portland High School was "not credible" after no explosives were found during a search of the area.
Portland police responded to the school shortly after 1 p.m. after a message referencing a bomb was apparently found on the wall of one of the school's bathrooms, the department said in a news release.
Dogs trained to detect explosives from the Portland Police Department and Maine State Police assisted in a thorough search of the building.
No explosives were found, according to police, and the threat was determined to be "not credible."
The school dismissed students early out of an abundance of caution, the release stated.
