Cambridge City Hall locked down after ‘disruptive behaviour’

Cambridge City Hall was under a self-imposed hold and secure Monday afternoon due to “ongoing disruptive behaviour by a member of the public.”

Cambridge employees, which includes staff and council members, received an internal email at 1:34 p.m., which said city hall was under a hold and secure.

Employees were asked to follow the city’s and police’s social media.

Neither social media posted about the hold and secure and police stated they weren’t advised of a hold and secure.

The hold and secure ended at 4:11 p.m., when another email was sent and stated despite lifting the hold and secure, “heightened security measures at city hall and recreation facilities will continue.”

Alana Russell, confirmed the reason for extra security measures in a statement and added Tuesday’s council meetin
