WAUSAU – Festival Foods and Hometown Grocers stores will be sold to The 1939 Group, a St. Louis-based company in October.

According to a joint release from Schnuck Markets, Festival Foods and Hometown Grocers, the sale includes 42 Skogen’s Festival Foods and nine Hometown Grocers stores throughout the state.

In the Wausau area, the sale includes Festival Foods at 110 S. 17th Ave. in Wausau and the Express Market by Festival Foods in Weston at 6205 Business 51. The closest Hometown Grocers stores are Wittenberg Sentry Foods at 110 S. Mission St. in Wittenberg and the Dave’s County Market at 300 E. First St. in Merrill.
