EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The rainy weather changed up the plans for Monday’s “Move with the Mayor” event.

Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry was at SWIRCA to mark National Senior Center Month.

During the event, Mayor Terry talked with members about any concerns they have in the community.

They were supposed to then go for a walk, but due to the rain, it was cancelled, so they held a Tai Chi session for everyone.

Healthy Aging Director Kristen Hood says the visit meant a lot to them.

“We are very honored to have the mayor join us today,” she says. “I think that just takes it up two more levels and it shows our seniors how important they are to her and to the city of Evansville as well.”
