The historic Olds-Sweet-Norman House in downtown Erie is being relocated from West 7th Street to West 6th Street, a move that began on Monday as part of a preservation effort in partnership with Tom Hagen's Historic Erie Preservation Trust.
The relocation of the 180-ton, 1884 Queen Anne-style house is part of a preservation effort to move it to the former Wehrle Hall location on Millionaires Row. The move, which started on a rainy Monday morning, is being carried out by Wolfe House and Building Movers and Kidder Jefferys Construction. The process involves carefully lifting and spinning the house 180 degrees before transporting it to its new location.
