SAN BENITO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A portion of the expressway in San Benito will be closed starting this week for road upgrades.

Starting Tuesday, the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 77 between PFC Juan G. Garza Jr. Rd. and Sherer Rd. in San Benito will undergo repairs.

Crews with the Texas Department of Transportation will replace road signs and foundations in the work area, prompting lane and ramp closures.

The lane and ramp closures will be in effect on Tuesday, Sept. 23, and Wednesday, Sept. 24.

Traffic delays are expected in this area. Drivers are asked to move over or slow down while road crews are present.
