BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — With respiratory illness season approaching, Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health and a coalition of regional health organizations are urging North Dakotans to take preventive steps to protect themselves and their communities.

Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health, along with local hospitals, schools, and community groups, held an event to remind North Dakotans that prevention can keep families out of the hospital this winter.

Miss North Dakota Teen 2025 Rita Johnson rolled up her sleeve and got her vaccination shot at the event. She said she needs to stay healthy to handle her busy schedule and represent the state well.
