The Porterville Police Department has had its share of issues in recent years when it comes to the treatment of female police officers and the Valley Voice has reported on another discrimination lawsuit against PPD.

Former Porterville Police Officers Ana Isabel Moreno and Anthony Luckey filed lawsuits in the federal Easter District Court in Fresno in November, 2024. Both are being represented by Petaluma's Lawrence J. King.

The suits allege misconduct by Lieutenant Bruce Sokoloff and criticize the city’s handling of internal complaints. The filings state there's serious racial and sexual discrimination at PPD and also criticizes the city's response the the allegations that have made to PPD.
