PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - A Peoria County Judge ordered a teenage boy from Peoria to be tried as an adult and stay in jail until his trial for allegedly shooting a young man in July.
Zymere Wright, 17, was arrested and charged on Sept. 18 with aggravated battery with a firearm in connection with the shooting.
According to the Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office, on July 19, around 11:30 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired on North Renwood Drive in Central Peoria. Officers found that a 19-year-old male had arrived at the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds shortly after.
