TONAWANDA TOWN, N.Y. — NY Governor Kathy Hochul was in Western New York on Monday where she talked about efforts by the state to reduce crime.
However, as it often happens, the thorny topic of bail reform came up.
Hochul has supported efforts to peel back certain portions of the laws passed under her predecessor.
State Legislature republicans, crime victims , and law enforcement are now pushing for additional steps and hope that Hochul get behind a bill to that end as part of next year's budget.
"I'm always willing to look at laws," said Hochul, while visiting the Town of Tonawanda police headquarters on Sheridan Drive. "I'm the governor who had to go in and undo measures which were well intended measures but which did not foresee down the road the implications and the collateral dam
