SUFFOLK, Va. — Veterans with the American Legion Post 327 were among the first volunteers assisting with day one of construction for a milestone build in Hampton Roads.
Habitat for Humanity of South Hampton Roads begun its 250th build in Suffolk on Monday. The newest home will be dedicated to Jimmy Carter, having been designated as the Jimmy Carter Foundation Legacy Home. It will go to a single mother and her child, who will put in the required "sweat equity." The mortgage will have a 0% interest rate.
