HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Making downtown Huntington more accessible and improving public safety are both objectives of Huntington’s downtown streetscape project.

The city will hold its second public meeting for people to have their concerns and questions addressed.

City officials said the project will include improvements to public rights of way, increasing parking in the area, as well as improving safety and accessibility.

The money was provided to the city through the Surface Transportation Grant and includes the 10 blocks of downtown Huntington, as well as portions of 8th, 9th, and 10th streets as well as 3rd Avenue.

City officials said these changes will benefit everyone in the city by enhancing the walkability of the area but also increase efficiency by helping the city host eve
