From PE to sexuality and learning languages earlier – what are the key changes to primary school curriculum?

Primary school children will spend more time on PE, begin to learn about puberty earlier and will start learning a foreign language in fifth class as part of a new curriculum which will be phased in from next year.

It will replace the 26-year-old curriculum currently in place, with Education Minister Helen McEntee saying it will “ensure every child in Ireland receives an education that is inclusive, empowering, and deeply relevant to their lives”.
