SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Forsyth Park is about to become the front line for some of the Army's toughest trainers. Helicopters will drop competitors into the action for the Pershing Cup - a grueling test for the army's top observer coach/trainer teams (OC/T).
Every soldier deploying overseas trains with an OC/T - the army's elite instructors. However, on Tuesday, those trainers are the ones being tested. Helicopters are set to land in the heart of Savannah and provide teams from around the world a face-off in one of the toughest fitness challenges in the army.
The Pershing Cup tests 18 two-person teams made up of expert observer coach/trainer teams who coach and validate soldiers before they deploy. These elite teams will face live-fire drills, obstacle courses, land navigation, weapons lan
