LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Our First Alert Weather Day continues as we continue to track rounds of rain impacting the state.

Heavy rain is stuck in eastern Kentucky to start off our morning. The WPC has issued an excessive rainfall threat for much of the state today -the majority of the heavier rain will slow by the time we look into our afternoon.

Cloudy skies with a few isolated chances will stick around for much of the day, but our skies today will remain much calmer than yesterday. Temperatures will peak in the low 80s, with a few pockets of sunshine appearing during our dinnertime hours.

Our next severe threat isn’t far away - rain picks back up late tonight - as we track some stronger storms showing back up early on our Wednesday. Rounds of rain continue throughout the day into a lin
