GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - In six weeks, St. John’s Ministries will open its men’s and women’s shelters in Green Bay for the cold weather seasons.
After record-setting numbers last winter, the organization is making changes in order to accommodate more people.
The city council recently approved measures to increase the capacity at the women’s shelter from 58 to 70 women per night.
The council also removed the seasonal restriction, so on May 1, when it would typically close for warm weather months, the overnight shelter will remain available for women facing extreme circumstances.
