Residents across central Pennsylvania can expect rounds of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday through Thursday, with temperatures running 5 to 10 degrees above normal.

A series of weather systems will bring intermittent showers to the region, with the most significant activity expected Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday.

An area that includes Franklin, Perry, Dauphin, Schuylkill, Lebanon, Cumberland, Adams, York and Lancaster counties is under a hazardous weather outlook today . Strong to severe thunderstorms with gusty winds and small hail are possible late this afternoon and evening , the National Weather Service says.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms also are expected in the northwestern half of the state.
