A person continues to be barricaded inside a 7-Eleven in a standoff that began overnight in the Long Beach area.

Officers with the Long Beach Police Department and the SWAT team are surrounding a 7-Eleven located on West Broadway and Pine Avenue.

The standoff began shortly after 2 a.m. and as of 6 a.m., it was still ongoing.

Police have been trying to get the person that is inside to come out.

A K-9 and BearCat were seen outside the building as authorities continued asking the person to surrender.

Officers were seen standing outside the store in tactical gear.

It was not immediately clear what led up to the situation or why the person was being sought.
