Detroit Councilman Fred Durhal III, who lost in the primary mayoral race in August, has decided to endorse City Council President Mary Sheffield for mayor.
"I am proud to endorse my colleague and friend, Council President Mary Sheffield, for Mayor of Detroit," Durhal posted on Facebook. "Over the years, we have worked side by side to build a Detroit that reaches every neighborhood, commercial corridor, and resident of this city. Mary has the experience, the work ethic, and the wherewithal to take Detroit to the next level."
"I look forward to continuing to work together to propel our city forward."
Durhal placed sixth in the race with 3.4 percent of the vote.
