Shillong, Sept 23: Residents of Nonghali village have extended their full support to the proposed setting up of a scientific landfill at the village.

This was informed by the Sordar of Nonghali, Hanboklang Mynsong, after a public hearing conducted today.

Mynsong said the public hearing for the project was successful, with no negative feedback from the local residents.

However, he said the residents have expressed some conditions for their support, which include that the government must implement the project exactly as clarified and assured, using scientific methods.

Mynsong informed that the village has demanded proper road connectivity, electricity, and other requirements within the project area.
