Cyclists in Greater Victoria will be able to ride transit for free during Go By Bike Week, running from Sept. 27 to Oct. 3, to celebrate the 30th annual event.
BC Transit and the Victoria Regional Transit Commission announced that riders can qualify for free fares by either loading their bike on a bus bike rack or showing their bike helmet when boarding.
All conventional BC Transit buses in Victoria are equipped with front-mounted bike racks, making it easier to combine cycling with public transit — especially if weather conditions change throughout the day.
“Sunshine on the way into work but rain and cold wind on the way home, put the bike on the bus and enjoy a free ride,” said BC Transit in its announcement.
