A new local dairy shop is bringing fresh dairy and deli fare to the Hastings community, two years after the Hastings Creamery shut down.

Hometown Dairy opened this month in the space that formerly housed the creamery's Hastings Dairy Store.

The new shop sells fresh eggs, milk, cheese, ice cream, baked goods and other products from local farmers and distributors, as well as made-to-order deli sandwiches with fresh-made sides such as potato salad.

"The support from our Hastings community has been absolutely overwhelming and heartwarming," the business shared on Facebook. "Thank you for making Hometown Dairy feel like home from day one."

The new shop is run by Eyota-based sweet corn producer Produce Plus, according to the Hastings Journal.
