RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - A Chester man has been sentenced in a dogfighting case.

Kareem Lann pleaded guilty Sept. 3 to two counts of ill treatment of animals and one count of presence at a facility of animal fighting or baiting, authorities said.

The Honorable Heath Taylor sentenced Lann to two years, including one year of incarceration in the South Carolina Department of Corrections.

After he is released, Lann will serve one year of probation and is not allowed to own or possess animals for five years.

In April 2024, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division arrested thirteen men and rescued two dogs from an active dogfight in Eastover.

Authorities found over $84K in cash and multiple firearms at the scene.
