GLENDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — A high school student is in the hospital after being hit by a vehicle while walking to school in Glendale early Tuesday morning.

The pedestrian-involved crash happened just before 7 a.m. at 47th and Northern avenues as the student was walking to nearby Apollo High School .

A Glendale Police spokesperson said the student had minor injuries after being hit by a car and was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons. The student’s parents were notified.

Northern Avenue was restricted near 47th Avenue as crews responded to the crash, but the area is now reopened.

It’s unclear what led to this crash or if the student was using a crosswalk. This crash remains under investigation.
