Cleanup crews were in South Los Angeles on Tuesday, targeting homeless encampments as part of California’s State Action for Facilitation on Encampments Task Force.
The work alongside the northbound 110 Freeway between 87th and 92nd streets and along 88th Place is the SAFE Task Force's first cleanup in Southern California.
According to Tara Gallegos, a spokesperson for Gov. Gavin Newsom, 15 people who were at the site have accepted shelter.
In addition, more help is available at a resource fair at nearby Jesse Owens Park.
