SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A heat advisory goes into effect at 11 a.m. Tuesday and will remain in effect until 7 p.m., the National Weather Service has advised. The NWS is warning of moderate heat risk for the East Bay, San Francisco Bay shoreline, Santa Clara Valley and the City of San Francisco.
Moderate heat risk, according to the NWS, carries a risk of heat-related illnesses to those sensitive to heat, including older adults, infants, athletes, outdoor workers, and those without effective cooling. The weather service advises drinking plenty of water, wearing lightweight, light-colored clothing, reducing time spent outdoors, and keeping windows open at night.
