The chemical they’re using is an insecticide, and the EPA says it is toxic to bees.
However, the manufacturer says that when used properly, there is minimal impact on other wildlife.
The health department says the product is called Duet and it’s delivered through a fine mist.
It’s designed to create what they call “benign agitation,” a non-biting excitation of mosquitoes. Essentially, it gets them flying, at which point the insecticide, which is a fine mist, makes contact and kills them.
