Greater Manchester Police say twelve people have been charged in relation to an incident in Manchester city centre this summer.
A protest, organised by a number of groups in support of a ceasefire in the Gaza conflict , took place in St Peter's Square on Saturday, July 12.
Pictures from the protest showed several people gathered at the Emmeline Pankhurst statue in St Peter's Square holding cardboard signs.
The Manchester Evening News reported at the time that 16 individuals were arrested at the protest on alleged terror offences.
Now, GMP has confirmed that twelve individuals, the majority of whom are from the north west, have been charged with breaching Section 13 (1) of the Terrorism Act.
They will appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on November 10.
