FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A recent scam is targeting PG&E customers in Fresno County, using flyers to scare the public into joining a program pretending to have a link with PG&E.

PG&E announced Tuesday that several customers in Fresno County received the flyer pictured below that falsely claims to be affiliated with the company.

Officials add that while the flyer may appear to use brand colors and design elements, the business behind it is not connected to PG&E, nor has its messaging been approved.

PG&E clarifies that while they do support the Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP) and offer rebates for installing solar and battery storage systems, PG&E does not support the "misleading, fear-based tactics used in this flyer."
