Charges have been laid following an investigation into an unlicensed distillery operating in Sarnia, say city police.

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario notified police in July a business allegedly was operating under a false manufacturing licence at summer festivals and markets in the province and also using online delivery services to sell alcohol, police said.

Police began an investigation and, on Sept. 18 searched a home in Sarnia and a commercial building on Green Street.

Counterfeit manufacturer’s licences were found posted in Triple Ah Brews, police said.

Police also seized 288 bottle of alcohol, distillery equipment, a point-of-sale machine, digital devices and a printer.
