Sinclair Broadcast Group will not air “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on its 38 ABC affiliate stations when the late-night show returns tonight (Tuesday, Sept. 23) after a nearly week-long suspension. According to The Hollywood Reporter , the company said it will replace the program with news content while “discussions with ABC are ongoing as we evaluate the show’s potential return.”
In Ohio, this decision will affect viewers in both the Columbus and Dayton markets, where the local ABC affiliates are owned by Sinclair . The move will also be felt by viewers in Steubenville, which is served by Sinclair’s affiliate in Wheeling, WV.
The Walt Disney Co., which owns ABC, announced Monday that Kimmel would resume hosting after the network halted production last week, citing concerns that his commen
