ELYRIA, Ohio — Lorain County Joint Vocational School has been named a winner in the U.S. Department of Education’s national work-based learning education competition, Career Z Challenge.
The school is one of nine Phase 3 winners from across the country and will receive $166,666 to expand its work-based learning and pre-apprenticeship programs, according to a news release.
“Being named a Career Z Challenge Phase 3 Winner is more than a national recognition; it’s a statement that Lorain County is leading Ohio’s workforce future,” Glenn Faircloth, superintendent and CEO of Lorain County JVS said in the release. “Our programs align with economic growth, making LCJVS a thought partner in building Ohio’s talent economy.”
