Voters who haven’t voted early will head to the polls today to cast their ballots in Arizona’s 7th Congressional District 7 special election.
They will fill the congressional seat left vacant when longtime Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva died March 13. State law requires a special election to fill the vacancy.
Voters will choose between Democrat Adelita Grijalva and Republican Daniel Butierez Sr., who emerged as the winners of the July 15 primary election.
A slew of candidates are also on the write-in list: Democrat Cheval Lavers; Independent Trista di Genova; Republicans Jeffrey “Jeff” Beasley, Avery Block, G. Seville Hatch and David McAllister McAllister; Nathaniel James Irwin Sr., No Labels Party; and James Rose and Daniel Wood, both of whom did not designate a party.
