The Larimer County Commissioners on Tuesday approved a new conservation easement in the Livermore area courtesy of a local landowner who donated the easement.
The easement, which will prohibit development on a 675-acre plot known as Legend’s Trail Ranch, in the Laramie Foothills conservation region is the latest in a string of conservation efforts by Larimer County in the area, where huge swaths of land have been conserved to protect scenic views as well as wildlife habitats and migration corridors for species like mule deer, white-tail deer, pronghorn, black bear, mountain lion, elk, and coyote.
The ranch is adjacent to a number of other conserved natural areas, including the Roberts Ranch Conservation Easement, Eagle’s Nest Open Space, Brackenbury State Wildlife Area and the Owl Canyon
