NORFOLK, Va. — The Norfolk SPCA is asking for the public’s help identifying a man who stole donated items from its shelter shortly after they were dropped off Sunday.

According to the shelter, a donor left laundry detergent, dog beds, towels, toys, and other supplies outside the building after hours. Within less than five minutes, a man drove up in a white car, took the items and drove off.

Shelter staff said the stolen items were intended to provide comfort and care to animals in need. They urged the person responsible to return the donations.

The Norfolk SPCA is asking anyone who recognizes the person in the surveillance video to contact the shelter or authorities. Staff also said they want to connect with the donor to thank them and ensure their contribution is honored.
