MONROE, Michigan — Threatening messages made to a Monroe school were deemed to be non-credible by authorities Tuesday, after a student received messages from an unknown number that included pictures of firearms.

In a press release, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said it was investigating a threat made against Triumph Academy, which is located at 3000 Vivian Rd. in Monroe. Authorities said a student reported receiving threatening text messages that included photographs of firearms from an unknown number.

The sheriff's office said these messages indicated "potential violence against the school," and the student reported the messages to staff Tuesday morning.
