Kevin Delgado, 40, of Bayside, N.Y., was sentenced Monday in federal court in Detroit to one year and one day in prison for threatening Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel.

Authorities said Delgado posted a threatening vile comment on Nessel's X page after she wrote sympathetic words about a dear friend, Samantha Woll, president of the Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue, who was stabbed to death on Oct. 21, 2023, and found outside her Detroit home.

Nessel, who is Jewish, wrote: “I am shocked, saddened, and horrified to learn" of Woll's brutal murder, and went on to describe her “as kind a person as I’ve ever known. She was driven by her sincere love of her community, state, and country.” Nessel also spoke at Woll's funeral in Oak Park.
