The Glenn Medical Center announced Monday its emergency department will permanently close by 7 p.m. Sept. 30, three weeks earlier than it was anticipated to close.

According to a social media post by the Center, staffing shortages drove the Center to close its emergency room earlier than a previously scheduled closure date of Oct. 21. The center’s clinics will remain open.

The center said patients after Sept. 31 may call 911 for emergencies to the nearest emergency room at:

• Colusa Medical Center in Colusa, 199 East Webster St.

• Enloe Medical Center in Chico, 1531 Esplanade.

• St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff. 2250 Sister Mary Columba Drive.
