The New York Giants are benching former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson , according to multiple reports. Rookie Jaxson Dart will take over the role.

Giants head coach Brian Daboll had made it clear that Wilson was on thin skates throughout the season, and after a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, it will now being Dart taking over the mantle.

Dart shined in the preseason, but Daboll said the team had a plan and named Wilson the starter. After just three games, the team will move to Dart and find out what they have in the rookie.

This also hurts the Steelers’ compensatory pick projections. They were forecasted to have a fourth-round pick from Wilson’s contract laden with incentives, but with less playing time, those will be chased down.
