Tom Wilson and Nic Dowd had a wild time at the National Zoo.

The Washington Capitals veteran forwards toured the famous D.C. zoo with their families recently.

In a video posted by the team on social media, Wilson directed Dowd to feed the bald eagle, Acadia, because he is American. Dowd then tried to feed the eagle a rat through the fence, but the bird wouldn’t take it from his hand.

They had better luck feeding a pelican fish in another clip.

“Seeing dad and son just having a fun day with the animals was pretty cool,” Wilson said in the video. “The entire staff were incredible.”

The Capitals forwards also saw beavers and seals. Dowd’s son got to toss a frisbee into a seal’s mouth.
