STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Surveillance footage and witness accounts of a local barber being stabbed on a commercial block last year as he returned home from work proved sufficient to convict the man charged in the case.

A Staten Island jury on Monday found the defendant, Ariel Ruiz, 30, of North Burgher Avenue in West Brighton, guilty of criminal possession of a weapon and third-degree assault.
