GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) - A routine patrol resulted in the Grand Junction Police Department finding copious amounts of drugs and the arrests of two suspects.

The incident occurred around 4:40 a.m. on Tuesday, when officers noticed occupants of a suspicious vehicle trespassing after hours in Columbine Park, 540 28 1/4 Road.

Officers contacted the driver, who allegedly appeared to be under the influence of controlled substances, and also saw drug paraphernalia inside the car, according to GJPD. A second person who was traveling with the driver was also contacted.

Through their investigation, officers found more paraphernalia and alleged controlled substances. More than 150 grams of suspected methamphetamine and a large amount of cash were seized.
